Word Vice is made by one person. That person answers his own email.

Something broken, something missing, or a word the game refuses to accept? Write to support@wordvice.app and tell me what happened. If it’s about a specific round, the word and the board size are usually all I need. If the app is misbehaving, include your device model and iOS version.

Common questions

What is the daily board?

One 4×4 board a day, the same for everyone, with no clock. Most days hide two vice words. Find one and you win the day; find them all for bragging rights. Fridays come loaded. A new board arrives at midnight your time.

How do streaks work?

Win the day to keep your streak alive. Night owls get until 2 a.m. the next morning, because some of our best sinning happens after midnight. Every vice you find goes in your jar for good.

Why is a word showing up as F**K?

You are playing at PG-13 and found an R-Rated word. It stays on your list, censored and scoring nothing, until you unlock R. Then it counts, with interest. Well, without interest. It just counts.

The game won’t accept a real word.

Word Vice uses a curated dictionary rather than every string in the English language, so obscure words, proper nouns, and abbreviations are left out on purpose. If you found a word that clearly belongs, send it to me. The list gets updated from real reports.

One swipe gave me two words. Why?

Plurals come free. Swipe MUG and MUGS comes with it, as long as the board has an S to finish it. Swipe MUGS and you get MUG too. Both score, which is why the total jumps.

My swipe picked the wrong letters.

The board reads your whole gesture when you lift your finger, so it usually recovers from a sloppy path. If it still misreads you often, tell me which device you use, whether you swipe with a thumb or an index finger, and the word you were going for. You can also turn on Tap letters to spell in Settings and tap each tile instead of dragging.

Can I make it less filthy? Or more?

Yes. On the start screen, tap PG-13 or R-Rated to switch. PG-13 is free forever and it is the whole damn game: unlimited rounds, nothing held back. R-Rated unlocks the longer list: the words this page is too polite to print, every one of them worth extra points. One time, one payment, yours for good. Each level keeps its own high scores, so your PG-13 record stays spotless no matter what you get up to in the other one.

I bought one unlock. Do I need the others?

No. The R-Rated unlock is sold at three prices, and all three unlock the identical list of words. The only difference is the price and the name. Once you have bought any one of them, the other two disappear. There is nothing left to buy.

How do I restore my purchase?

Tap R-Rated to open the unlock screen, then tap Restore Purchases. The unlock belongs to your Apple Account, so it comes back on any device signed in to it. Restoring is free and never charges you again.

If it fails, check that you are online and signed in to the Apple Account that bought it. Still stuck? Email me the purchase date and which unlock you chose, and I will sort it out.

Where did my scores go?

If you are signed in to iCloud, your daily boards, streak, and jar follow you to any device on the same Apple Account. Timed-round scores live only on the device, so deleting the app or moving phones without a full device restore clears them. Your R-Rated unlock always survives the move, because Apple keeps that one for you. See the privacy policy for what goes where.

Why is a word in the game that offends me?

The vice list is deliberately curated to be rude rather than cruel. Slurs, hate terms, and targeted abuse are excluded. If something slipped through that shouldn’t be there, tell me and I’ll take it out.

Is there an Android version?

Not today. iPhone and iPad only.
