Word Vice is made by one person. That person answers his own email.

Something broken, something missing, or a word the game refuses to accept? Write to support@wordvice.app and tell me what happened. If it’s about a specific round, the word and the board size are usually all I need. If the app is misbehaving, include your device model and iOS version.

Common questions

The game won’t accept a real word.

Word Vice uses a curated dictionary rather than every string in the English language, so obscure words, proper nouns, and abbreviations are left out on purpose. If you found a word that clearly belongs, send it to me. The list gets updated from real reports.

One swipe gave me two words. Why?

Plurals come free. Swipe MUG and MUGS is credited too, as long as the board has an S to finish it. Going the other way there is no catch: swipe MUGS and MUG always comes with it, since you have already traced every letter. Either way you never trace the same word twice, and both words score on their own, which is why the total jumps further than you might expect.

My swipe picked the wrong letters.

The board reads your whole gesture when you lift your finger, so it usually recovers from a sloppy path. If it still misreads you often, tell me which device you use, whether you swipe with a thumb or an index finger, and the word you were going for. You can also turn on Tap letters to spell in Settings and tap each tile instead of dragging.

Can I make it less filthy? Or more?

Yes. On the start screen, the Vice control switches between PG-13 and R-Rated. PG-13 is free forever and it is the whole damn game: unlimited rounds, nothing held back. R-Rated unlocks the longer list: the words this page is too polite to print, every one of them worth extra points. One time, one payment, yours for good. Each level keeps its own high scores, so your PG-13 record stays spotless no matter what you get up to in the other one.

I bought one unlock. Do I need the others?

No. The R-Rated unlock is sold at three prices, and all three unlock the identical list of words. The only difference is the price and the name. Once you have bought any one of them, the other two disappear. There is nothing left to buy.

How do I restore my purchase?

Open Settings inside the app and tap Restore Purchases. The unlock belongs to your Apple Account rather than to a particular phone, so it comes back on any device signed in to the same account. Restoring is free and can be done as often as you like. It never charges you again.

Two things account for nearly every restore that seems to fail. The first is being signed in to a different Apple Account than the one that bought it; the App Store has no record of the purchase under the second account, so check which account is signed in under iOS Settings. The second is simply having no connection at the moment you tap it, since the app has to ask Apple. If neither explains it, email me. Include the date of purchase and which unlock you chose, and I will sort it out.

Where did my scores go?

Scores live only on your device, so deleting the app or moving to a new phone without a full device restore will clear them. There is no account and no cloud copy; see the privacy policy for why. Your R-Rated unlock is the exception and does survive the move, because Apple keeps that one for you.

Why is a word in the game that offends me?

The vice list is deliberately curated to be rude rather than cruel. Slurs, hate terms, and targeted abuse are excluded. If something slipped through that shouldn’t be there, tell me and I’ll take it out.

Is there an Android version?

Not today. iPhone and iPad only.
